My current work presents a meditation upon structure and the dissolution of structure. Common to my work is a reliance upon units of structure, out of which an image is "built." I start from a line, a grid, or a thread. My process is gradual and consciously physical. I'm interested in the architectural connotation of my actions upon a surface- building, excavating, cutting, suspending, tying together. My work often proceeds from the geometric to the organic. I recognize in this process a weaving-in of reference to human-made, implicitly livid-in structures.
